Something to smile about
When I started blogging, I decided to take on advertisers when I would have 100 000 page views.
This seemed very far away six months ago...
Right now I have 98 965 page views.
And this morning I got an email from Paige from CampusBookRentals asking if I would be interested in writing a sponsored post :-).
My first reaction was: Why me?
At the moment I have nothing to do with going to college. My student days are over and Eva isn't there yet for another
10 years.
But the more I read on their website, the more excited I got about featuring them in a blog post.
Here is why:
In the last couple of years, spending money for me went from being an enjoyable occassion to something I
often struggle with. There is just no avoiding the costs our consumption has on the planet.
Nowadays, the less harm and the more good my purchases do the better I feel.
And this is what I love about CampusBookRentals.
They have a wonderful concept that reduces waste and helps you to save: Rent your College books!
Once you are done you can give them back (no shipping costs to you) and they go to the next person instead of
cluttering up our landfills or your shelves (after my purging spree I am so allergic to clutter :-) ).
And if you really love the book, you can buy it from them by paying the difference instead of giving it back.
By now I quite liked them already.
And then I read this:
CampusBookRentals has partnered with Operation Smile and has committed itself to cover costs for at least a
1000 cleft lip operations.
Operation Smile does these live changing operations on children whose families could not otherwise afford it.
The operation is relatively simple but makes an incredible difference for children born with cleft lips.
Without being operated on, they can only eat with difficulties, they cannot smile, and they are often hidden away by
their families out of shame.
A relatively short operation can change all that.
In Februar last year, Operation Smile was also working in Namibia.
Here are some before and after photos from their website:
Can you imagine the incredible impact these operations had on the life of the kids?
In my opinion, this is such a worthy cause to support!
Wishing you a wonderful day
Love,
