How to deal with rejection in business
One thing that holds a lot of lightworkers back from showing up fully for their calling, is that they have cellular memories of being ostracised. Thrown out of the tribe. Driven to live in the forest…
When this happened, it wasn’t a good thing…
You had to face wild animals, marauding bandits and bad weather by yourself, and your chances of survival weren’t great.
This sits in our DNA. Which is also why it can feel so scary to put yourself ‘out there’ on the internet, and get criticism or hateful comments.
But:
There will always be people who don't like you.
The more public you are about what you do and what you believe in, the more you are going to polarise. And this is a good thing!
I know it can be hurtful and scary to get nasty comments if you are being real and vulnerable, but even this is a good thing!
Whatever someone else says about you isn't about you. It's about them.
The only thing that should concern you is how you react to what they are saying.
Of course we all know this, but it's not always easy to do when you get an unexpected push-back.
This started to happen to me more and more in the last few months.
The first couple of times, I went into a bit of a spin. I wasn't used to people not liking me. I used to always be the one who could get along with everybody.
I can see where others are coming from, and I can see the hurt they had experienced and that was now guiding their behaviour.
And so I used to engage.
I tried to help. I tried to make things better. After all, this is what a healer does...
And there is nothing wrong with any of this.
BUT, the more clear you become about who you are, the more you step into your power and understand why you are here, what you stand for, and what your particular mission is, the more of a target you are going to provide.
People will get triggered by what you are saying. Which of course means that you have hit a 'sore spot', something they try to hide from themselves, something that isn't healed.
And often, instead of looking at themselves and what is going on, people will lash out at you. It's just easier.
But for lightworkers who have experienced being killed for who we are in many lifetimes, this can bring up So.Much.Stuff!
Even though, once again, this is a good thing :).
It's like a badge of honour. It shows that you are beginning to step into your role as a leader, as a way shower.
Yes, being generic, nice and non-threatening is save and won't get you attacked.
But it also won't get you doing your work!
And having an impact.
And changing things for the better.
The clearer and more outspoken you become, the easier it will be for your tribe to find you.
Your people will resonate with what you put out, and everybody who isn't served by what you do can move on and find their own tribe.
This allows you to focus on the people you are here to serve, instead of getting distracted by trying to convince someone to see your point who can't or doesn't want to do so.
Conserve your energy, and use it for 'your' people!
And know that when you're getting more push back and critique it means that you have become a lot clearer about who you are!
